TELKOM CALLS IT QUITS ON TELEX IN SOUTH AFRICA

Telkom, the sole carrier of the Telex network in South Africa is set to call it quits on Telex , for the consumer this will mean that phonogram will no longer be in operation. This will also mean job losses in a country where there is already a high unemployment rate.

Currently as per the The Postal Services Act, No. 124 of 1998 only the South African Post office is licensed by ICASA to delivery Letters or addressed post smaller than 1 kg in South Africa.
